Great hill

Never really rode many trails over this way so Amy took me on a ride to show me what im missing out on, really nice decent through tockholes and a nice climb up to great hill with another cracking decent down. Wish i could of enjoyed the decent a bit better as my ribs are bruised at the moment and every bump hurt. I shall be back over that way soon to give the hills a proper going over.

We finished off heading through rivi and up to the mast for the final decent down to belmont, Amy blew up but she was still smiling. If only i had some of those lovely cnp flapjacks left for her.

whinlatter challenge

At the start

Was a good ride, set off in the middle of the pack cause im lazy and didnt get to the start early enough. Managed to get myself in a decent place by the top of the first fire road climb and onto the singletrack, was very slippy off the fireroads and using a better tyre rather than a racing slick would of helped in this. Made up loads of places on the next fire road only to lose them all on the next decent with a massive blow out on the rear tyre. was pretty gutted and it felt like it took about 15 mins to sort out even though it was probably just a few mins (losing my quick release in the bushes didnt help). The rest of the ride was spent trying to make all the places back i had lost and trying to catch shaun who went past when i was mending the flat.
End of 1st lap

Managed to pull back lots of places and had a fast 2nd lap. On the last climb i managed to see Shaun half way up but failed to catch him, i finished 10 seconds behind him in 13th place in my cat at 2 hours 41. Really enjoyed it apart from the puncture and realized at the end i had done 20 miles with my innertube bubbling out the tyre as i had ripped a big hole in the sidewall.

Lee quarry and cragg quarry followed by bmxing

Ace weather today, spring has arrived. Headed over to rooley moor on the trek ex and did the new linkage trail to lee quarry, its so much better having something to ride down rather than haul yourself through bogs that used to be there. Did a lap round lee quarry on the red route not much has changed since i last went, some jumps on the long decent had been resurfaced and were riding really nice, the whole place was rammed with riders which was good but alot of them didnt seem to know how to ride so i headed off after 1 lap back up to rooley moor road. Arrived at cragg quarry and had alot more fun doing a lap of that than lee quarry it seemed to flow alot better maybe cause i wasnt getting held up, people seem to put off cragg quarry cause of the effort involved getting there which is crap but its better for me. Done alot of off road miles this week so my legs werent feeling great i headed back home getting in 35 miles.
I headed down to radcliffe skatepark in the afternoon on the bmx and had a play on the new concrete ramps that had been put in, need to get out more on the bmx i think.

Friday afternoon rides

Did the same ride as last week, although added a few bits extra in, the new trails at cragg quarry were completed so i had a quick blast round that, will be ace when there dry and bedded in i could tell riding them slow that there'll be super flowy and fast. I then couldnt be bothered with riding through foot deep bogs on holcombe moor so rode the top road and did the technical decent from peel tower, Ive forgot how good it is theres drops and rocks everywhere on it a good decent i shall add it more into rides, from the bottom i joined up to the horseshoe round holcombe and carried on over darwin moor and onto winter hill. From Bolton i off roaded it to Prestwich did a lap of the red route and came back to radcliffe on the nature trail before the sun set. Just under 60 miles in 5 1/2 hours. Took my big camera so here are some pics it was very hazy.
